Challenge and Task!

For crack detection of forged parts for motor components, 1,3 million parts are moved every day fast and vibration-free, avoiding damages at the test facility. Moreover, the cycle time should be significantly shortened.

SCHUNK solution

For handling the forged parts, the pneumatic axes are replaced by linearly directly driven ELP modules. The results are significantly reduced vibrations, minimum wear of the used components, and a shorter cycle time for the inspection process of the parts.

Adjustment of end positions

The end positions of the mechatronic SCHUNK ELP linear module can be easily mechanically adjusted via an adjustment screw using a hexagon wrench.

Speed adjustment

The extension and retraction speed of the SCHUNK ELP can be easily controlled via two rotary switches.

The auto-learn function

In the case of changing workpiece weights, two to five strokes are enough for completing the speed adjustment automatically. Thereby you can already work productively right from the first stroke.
