The SCHUNK TENDO Slim 4ax is the toolholder for axial machining. It is the only one of its class which meets every requirement: heat shrinking contour, easy handling, short set-up time, long tool life, high flexibility, Plug & Work, and can be used with minimum quantity lubrication.
Slim heat shrinking contours on the outside – clever hydraulic expansion technology on the inside! With the SCHUNK TENDO Slim 4ax it was possible for the first time to combine the complete outside geometry of heat shrinking mountings with the proven qualities of the SCHUNK hydraulic expansion technology which has been proven thousands of times. The slim precision mounting makes it ideal for axial machining at high precision and has excellent vibration damping. In the automotive industry the SCHUNK TENDO Slim 4ax can replace heat shrinking mountings in existing processes by Plug & Work without having to reprogram the machine.
As with every SCHUNK TENDO hydraulic expansion toolholder, the TENDO Slim 4ax also has permanently high runout accuracies, perfect vibration damping, and a fast tool change with a wrench. Even narrow shape and position tolerances can be met precisely, therefore investments in high-priced peripheral devices are not required.
Since the precision mounting can replace conventional heat shrinking toolholders by Plug & Work without having to reprogram the machine, their advantage can be directly tested in a real application or can be permanently used. Initially the SCHUNK TENDO Slim 4ax is available for the HSK-A 63 interface. Further interfaces and sizes are planned.
