Impressions from the SCHUNK booth

ROTA NCX Power Chuck

Attractively priced turbo

Following the previous success of the SCHUNK wedge-bar power chuck, SCHUNK is now transferring the principle of quick jaw changes to CNC lathes with short stroke cylinder. Particularly when it comes to optimizing production processes, the ROTA NCX stands out as an attractive production turbo due to its outstanding price-performance ratio. It minimizes set-up times and increases the machine's productive processing times. Due to the quick-change system, it is not necessary to unscrew the chuck jaws again.

ROTA TB2 front-end chuck

Powerhouse for machining of rods and pipes

SCHUNK's pneumatic front-end chuck ROTA TB2 and ROTA TB2-LH sets a new standard in the machining of rods and pipes for the oil industry as well as the mining and construction sectors. Despite the compact outer dimensions, for example, they have an extremely large through-bore of up to 560mm.

With air pressure of 6 bar it is already possible to achieve very high clamping forces up to 280 kN, which can easily be adapted to the particular task.

Product details

An anti-corrosive coating applied to the most important functional components of the SCHUNK ROTA TB2 and ROTA TB2-LH significantly increases the service life. The base jaw guides are equipped with a special seal to prevent penetration of contamination, dust and swarf, therefore reducing maintenance costs. In addition, an advanced lubrication system ensures constant clamping forces and particularly high process stability. An integrated pressure sensor provides for maximum process reliability and operational safety in daily use.

TENDO E compact with SCHUNK CAPTO interfaces

SCHUNK is expanding the successful TENDO E compact range by adding the SCHUNK CAPTO interfaces C4 and C5 with diameters of 12 mm and 20 mm, as well as C6 with diameters of 12 mm, 20 mm, and 32 mm.

The benefits at a glance.

  • Up to 300% longer tool life.*
  • High moments, now up to 2,000 Nm at ∅ 32 mm under dry clamping conditions, 900 Nm for oily tool shanks
  • Perfect surfaces – no chatter marks
  • Minimum noise emission
  • Reduced workshop costs
  • Tool change within seconds without peripheral equipment.
  • Permanent run-out accuracy and tool change. Repeat accuracy < 0.003 mm

Smart production processes with SCHUNK components

As a partner of end customers, system integrators and machine builders, SCHUNK offers the broadest product spectrum with more than 300 mechatronic standard components for robot and handling solutions – products that are designed to communicate in a network, therefore making them Industry 4.0 compatible.
More than 12,000 custom solutions implemented with mechatronic gripping systems impressively emphasize SCHUNK’s pioneering claim in this field. This Industry 4.0 cell demonstrates how a base support with a pinion and a plate are assembled to create a module.
The basis for flexible production automation is provided by networkable and therefore communication-capable components, as well as adaptable, flexibly controllable SCHUNK actuators. Together with intuitive plug & work capable concepts, they offer maximum flexibility for networked production.

When everything fits together

Compatibility is required. Mobile phones, webcams, and laptops can be connected with the TV. Charging devices fit lawnmowers as well as drills. Why should this type of compatibility end when it comes to machine building? The SCHUNK program contains various clamping devices, which can be safely and easily combined with one another. This lets you cover a wide range of workpiece clamping tasks. Gripping modules, rotary units, and linear modules can be linked to complete handling systems. You can select products from our standard program or you create an individual solution from the standard components. The Schunk modular system offers you the right level of flexibility.
